Complaints Procedure

A complaint is an expression of dissatisfaction or disquiet which may be about an event that has happened, failed to happen or the way in which something was handled.

At John Burns Primary School we aim to deal with concerns and complaints as quickly and amicably as possible. The procedure is aimed at resolving issues informally, whenever possible and avoiding the need for the formal procedures to be invoked.

If there is something that you are concerned about, please make an appointment with your child's class teacher to discuss the issue in the first instance. If you are still worried or concerned, the Headteacher will be happy to meet with you at a mutually convenient time. Please contact the school office to make an appointment to discuss the matter with the Headteacher or write to the Headteacher explaining your complaint and what you would like to happen now.

This is part of a full procedure which all schools have in place and has been approved by the Governing Body. If the Headteacher cannot resolve the issues or the complaint is about the Headteacher you should then write to the Chair of Governors.
